About the Artist:
From an early age, art became an integral part of my life, nurtured through my schooling and formal education. I earned a bachelor's degree in fine arts and a teaching degree from the University of Northern Colorado, laying the foundation for my artistic journey. My passion flourished in the breathtaking mountains of Utah, where I spent eight years working at a ski lodge, captivated by the natural beauty. The landscapes, wildlife, and botanical details inspired me to create intricate renderings, often sketched and painted at high altitudes.
Later, moving to Washington, I found renewed inspiration in the Pacific Northwest’s striking scenery. As a member of the Mountaineers of Seattle, I explored the region’s mountains and wilderness, deepening my connection to nature. During the pandemic, I embraced online watercolor classes, discovering new dimensions in reflective light and the interplay of color and intensity. Through layering tones, I experienced excitement in the creative process, constantly evolving my technique.
My artistic subjects span small everyday objects to vast landscapes, towering mountains, and expressive portraits. Through my work, I aim to inspire others to pause, reflect, and appreciate the profound beauty woven into every corner of life.
Enjoy!
